Misawa Airport is a special company jointly formed with investment capital from Aomori Prefecture, Hachinohe City, Misawa City and the private sector.
This is the only common airport shared by the United States armed forces, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and a private airport company.
Currently there are chartered international flights every two years.
